Be Still

"And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed." Mark 1:35
"And after he had dismissed the crowds, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone." Matthew 14:23 This was after he had heard about John, his cousin,  being beheaded and feeding the 5,000.

Jesus took time to go to His Father.  The Son of God sought out time to be alone in prayer and meditation.
I cannot stress enough  the importance of being still in God's presence. It is healing to the weary soul. It is comforting and peace-giving.

How often we scurry through endless chores for days without stopping to seek out our Creator.
Our world is chaotic and full of discouragement, but time with our Heavenly Father brings order to chaos. How silly we think we are when we try to control our days without God.  Jesus sought solace with His Father. We can too. Rest in His care and you will certainly be renewed.
 I Am Thine O Lord

"I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
  And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith,
  And be closer drawn to Thee. Draw me nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
  To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
    To Thy precious, bleeding side.

Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
  By the pow’r of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
  And my will be lost in Thine.

O the pure delight of a single hour
  That before Thy throne I spend,
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God,
  I commune as friend with friend!

There are depths of love that I yet may know
  Ere Thee face to face I see;
There are heights of joy that I yet may reach
  Ere I rest in peace with Thee."
