Stubborn

Genesis 1:9 ESV

And God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear. And it was so."

We humans often assume we are  in total control of our destiny. We make choices whether good or bad, but our Heavenly Father has the path of our life already planned. Our job is to follow his lead, his guideposts along the way. Fear, uncertainty enters our thoughts when we ignore God.

So, how do we know the path God chooses. Communication is the key. God gives us His truth in the Bible, a detailed instruction on living, His perfect truth! We also have direct communication with God through prayer.  While on earth, Jesus taught us to pray;  by example He went to His Father.  Because Christ is the  High Priest who intervenes on our behalf, we merely go before God in the name of His Son.

God created us, and  He sent His Son for us!  Read the passage above again. How dare we think we know more, can do more than our Creator who spoke and "it was so"(creating the cosmos). The definition of stubborn: "Determined to do what one  wants and is very unwilling to change his or her mind,  is a stubborn character used to getting his own way."  This definition describes we humans, myself included, so many times, and we find ourselves stumbling or in chaos.

Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Psalm 121:1-5 ESV

I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade on your right hand.
