Mission Hungary

Wayne and Sherri Barrett made their first trip to Hungary in 1989. They heard a recording of a Hungarian Baptist Choir and Orchestra that was so impressive, they had to know more about the Hungarian Baptists and their music. That trip began a relationship with Hungarian brothers and sisters in Christ and with Hungarian churches that has continued ever since. For over twenty years the Barrett's have been engaged with partnership mission activities with Hungarian churches. Wayne said, "Our teams are not taking the gospel to Hungary, as there have been Christians in Hungary for over a thousand years. We partner with faithful brothers and sisters in Christ to help take the gospel to the lost in Hungary and to be mutually encouraged. They take the lead, and we help them. God has blessed us with many fruitful trips and relationships of long standing." The Chapel has been directly involved with 4 mission trips to Hungary. They have supported "evangelizations", led in English and recreation camps for children, provided music, served in worship services, ministered in the nursing home, and visited shut-ins. The Rakosszentmihaly Baptist Church and pastor Rev. Seres, have a close and special relationship with our own congregation.
