Hilltop Lakes Chapel Leadership
Hilltop Lakes Chapel is blessed to have a leadership team who are truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will. Following are brief bio's of our leadership team and their qualifications for ministry.
Dr. Wayne Barrett

Rev. Robert Read
Assistant Pastor
Robert Read was appointed to serve as Hilltop Lakes Chapel's Assistant Pastor in 2010. Prior to that, he served as Lay Leader of Jewett UMC in Jewett, TX.
The attributes that best describe Robert as a pastor are strong preaching, leadership development and teaching. He teaches the Pastor's Class on Sunday mornings and leads an at home small group study on Sunday afternoons. Pastor Robert heads up the Chapel Prayer Network, an email prayer ministry and the Men's Prayer Breakfast. Pastor Robert takes worship, preaching, and teaching very seriously, spending hours of his days focused on Bible study.
He graduated from Master's International University of Divinity in 2015 with a B.A in Christian Studies and Pastoral Ministry, and a Master of Ministry degree in 2018.
Robert has been happily married for fifty-six years to his wife, Inez. They have two daughters Rena' and Robin, who have blessed them with eleven grandchildren.
Rod and Saishi Hovey
Children's Ministers
Rod and Saishi Hovey joined our staff in July 2020, leading both Children and Youth Ministries. They came to know the Lord at early ages and have been involved in various aspects of ministry since their teens. They married and moved to Hilltop Lakes in 2005 and now live nearby with their four kids, four cows, and numerous chickens. Saishi began leading VBS assemblies at the Chapel in 2014 and stepped into the role of VBS Director in 2018. As our youth and children’s ministries grow, Rod and Saishi have transitioned to Children’s Ministers, working with kids in sixth grade and younger. Saishi leads CrossWay Kids Club on Wednesday nights and Children’s Church on Sunday mornings. Rod and Saishi have a heart for children and families and love serving the Lord and our community.
Dani Griggs
Youth Minister
“Dani Griggs joined our staff as youth minister in August of 2023. She has lived in Leon county for ten years and at Hilltop Lakes for six years along with her husband, Dustin Griggs, and their children, Lorilei and Bode. Both Dani and Dustin were raised in church, participating in various church camps and youth ministries. They then served together as youth leaders after their marriage in 2010. Dani has a heart for serving Christ, for this community, and for the youth here, and she is excited to see what God has in store.”
